So, my tagging system kind of sucks, and I'm much to lazy to either revamp it or make a writing journal and move everything over. So! Master fic list. Anything I haven't listed here I probably don't like anymore and don't want to inflict upon anyone else (for example, a lot of my old Kingdom Hearts fic). Stars by things that are my favorites, aka anything that doesn't make me cringe too hard when I re-read it.

Title: Differentiation
Fandom: Homestuck
Rating: PG-13
Characters: John/Karkat, Vriska, Kanaya, Rose
Word Count: Like 13k. Jesus fuck how did that happen, I finally wrote something too long for one LJ post.
Summary: Your name is Karkat Vantas, and the universe hates you, which is probably why some wayward punk decided it was a good idea to kidnap you and make you miss class. Goddammit. [aka, nerd!Karkat and rebel!John, for this kink meme prompt.]
Author's Notes: aka, what happens when I use fic-writing as an excuse to procrastinate on Calculus.

Link to AO3, because I don't feel like trying to split it up into two posts.

Ha so apparently it's been like a month since I've posted here? I have no idea how that happened?

Nothing really new's been going on. I am so over junior year, it's not even funny. I am just done.

Went to Naka-kon last weekend, and it was so ridiculously fun ksdjklsds. I went as Vriska from Homestuck, although it was kind of a shabby costume because ha ha I only got to Act 5 about a week before Naka and didn't actually get caught up until a few days afterwards, so I made the whole costume in like five days? Considering all that I think it turned out pretty well. Spent way too much time hanging out with random Homestuck people because I just got into it and I tend to freak out a lot about things I'm new to (Missy this is ALL YOUR FAULT but in a good way.)

Also, Nuu was in the Artist Alley and I got her to sign my copies of Honeydew Syndrome and honestly it's been a week and I am STILL KIND OF FREAKING OUT ABOUT IT AAAAH.

So during English class today, a few kids were giving a presentation on the book Stiff, which is about dead bodies. So instead of paying attention to it, I did the logical thing and wrote fic about Molly.

Also I somehow managed to write myself into shipping Molly/Lestrade??? Not quite sure how that happened.

Title: Sutures
Fandom: Sherlock (BBC)
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Molly-centric, Lestrade, and background Sherlock/John
Summary: What Molly sees in her job, and also what she saw in Sherlock.
Spoilers: Through 2x03, The Reichenbach Fall.
Warnings: Mentions of corpses and autopsies, but nothing graphic.

Molly likes her job. She doesn’t tell people this, if she can help it.Collapse )

Haven't done this in a bit over a year, so. Unfinished fic meme, because as always I am awful about finishing things. Ever.

Post one-to-two sentences of every unfinished piece of writing you have, fic or non; maybe it will motivate you to finish.Collapse )

Spent today doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, and it was glorious. I'm using the 'plug your ears and say la-la-la' approach to doing homework, which is going to make me miserable on Monday when I have to do it all, but it makes for a nice Saturday. I should probably at least get my AHAP reading done (Grapes of Wrath, woo! Less woo for all the questions we have to answer about it, though.)

I went and saw The Artist with Hannah last night, and it was SO GOOD AND EVERYONE SHOULD GO SEE IT AND SKL;DFJDSL it was really really good. The only other silent movie I've ever seen was a random Charlie Chaplin movie about a zoo our EHAP teacher showed us for kicks, and I was worried I would get bored and then feel uncultured but it wasn't boring at all! By the end I was just kind of smiling dumbly at the screen at the awesomeness I had just witnessed. (Also, the dog was cute.) We were the only people in the theater under fifty, but we did go to a 5:30 showing, so that might have had something to do with it.

Anyway, after that I ended up hanging out with Jamie. We watched about three half movies. A Streetcar Named Desire until we decided something happier was in order, some 90s movie called Mrs. Doubtfire with Robin Williams until the comedy of errors-ness started to stress me out, and then Toy Story 3 until we were two tired to focus anymore. Anyway, the upshot of this is that I actually woke up at a reasonable hour, since I never sleep late when people stay over at my house. Dunno why. But hey, I actually got to listen to Car Talk! And then I wasted the rest of the day reading Sherlock fic, and now I'm just going to spend a while freaking out until Reichenbach airs tomorrow. And then I'll probably spend all of tomorrow after Reichenbach freaking out about whatever does actually happen. And then Monday I will freak out about all the homework I didn't do. Ah, weekends.

Statistics on the number of LGBT YA books published. Mildly disheartening.

This is fantastically unlikely, but someday if all the stars align and if starting a business ever becomes a good idea again and if I somehow learn how to run or even think about running a publishing house, I'd like the start a publisher that would only publish young adult LGBT books. And not just inspiring stories about gay or trans kids in high school (although those too because I do love those and those do need to be written and published and read), but also stories that are just normal young adult books about normal young adult things, except with main characters who aren't just straight and cis. Because the first book I ever read with a significant gay character was Will of the Empress, and when Daja kissed Rizu I actually went back just to make sure that Rizu wasn't a guy. I missed all the (pretty obvious) hints that Daja had a crush on her because when I was ten, it just didn't occur to me that Daja might fall in love with a girl. Which is pretty sad, because it turned out that I fall in love with girls. And yet, when I was ten, I thought I must have been misreading Rizu's gender for half the book.

I seriously doubt I'll ever actually start a publishing house. But it's a nice dream, and even though I probably won't, I'm sure that eventually someone else will. (And then I will buy every single one of their books. And it will be awesome.)

I got my copy of The Fault In Our Stars yesterday! And I finished it today! And I cried! A lot.

John Green, why do you do this to me.

On the bright side, I now have a birthday present to give to my brother? He gave me An Abundance of Katherines as a present a few years ago, which is how I started liking John Green, so it seems fair.
